We're in the News: Geekwire Spotlights Our Journey in Making Math Accessible to All!

We are excited to announce that Geekwire has featured our journey at the Seattle Universal Math Museum (SUMM). In an insightful article by Amy Rolph, published on November 10, 2023, our mission to revolutionize how students interact with and perceive mathematics is beautifully highlighted.

At SUMM, we believe in the core idea that everyone is a math person, although we all connect with math differently. Founded by Tracy Drinkwater, a passionate math educator with deep roots in the Seattle area, we are on a mission to make math a tangible and enjoyable experience for all. We envision a museum where music, art, technology, history, science, and sports all intersect, each pathway unveiling the magic of mathematics.

Our journey began four years ago, and since then, we have been making significant strides. While we work towards our dream of a physical museum space in Seattle, our impact is already being felt through various programs in schools and community organizations. Plans for a SUMMobile, a mobile museum experience, and temporary exhibit spaces are in the works, leading up to our goal of establishing a permanent location in the Seattle area.

The Geekwire article delves deep into our vision, the innovative strategies we employ to tackle societal challenges, and the anticipated impact on generations to come. We are redefining the experience of learning math, turning it into a vibrant and interactive journey.

We invite you to read this wonderful feature on Geekwire to learn more about our history, our present initiatives, and our plans for the future. It's an exciting time for us at SUMM, and we can't wait to share every step of this journey with you.
